NWHM Women’s History Speakers Bureau Lecture programs include available Q&A by the presenter that starts at a flat fee of $3000 (firm) for a 60-minute virtual lecture event and a flat fee of $5000 (firm) for a 60-minute in-person lecture event.
When are lecture fees due?
Lecture fees are due within 15 days after your event.
How are NWHM Speakers Bureau lecture fees used?
NWHM Speakers Bureau program fees are designated by the speakers as donations to the National Women’s History Museum, a portion of which is given to the Speakers Bureau member in the form of an honorarium in gratitude for the time, commitment, and expertise. Donated fees supplement the Museum’s Impact Budget, which helps the Museum to fulfill its mission to bring to life the countless untold stories of women throughout history, and serve as a space for all to inspire, experience, collaborate, and amplify women’s impact—past, present, and future. We strive to fundamentally change the way women and girls see their potential and power.
How far in advance should I request a speaker?
The time required to schedule a speaker varies individually. Some speakers are able to accept invitations immediately, while others need to schedule events well in advance in order to accommodate their professional obligations. For best results, submit your request as soon as you are able, preferably well in advance of your event, particularly if you are booking for an event that falls during the busier months of March (Women’s History Month) and August (Women's Equality Day).
What types of organizations host NWHM Speakers?
NWHM Speakers Bureau lecturers frequently give lectures for colleges or universities, historical societies, museums, libraries, secondary schools, senior care residencies, corporations, conferences, government agencies, and community and nonprofit organizations.
How are NWHM Speakers Bureau Lecturers chosen?
NWHM Speakers Bureau lecturers are appointed throughout the year by the Museum’s Scholars Advisory Council (SAC) based on recommendations by members of the SAC. Many of the founding members of the NWHM Speakers Bureau program also serve as members of the SAC. Volunteers and nominations are welcome and can be submitted to [email protected].
