Lydia McKelvie
Lydia McKelvie is an art historian and digital specialist based in Florence, Italy. She holds a B.A. in art history and history from Washington University in St. Louis and an M.A. in art history from Syracuse University, where she researched the representation of women in Italian Renaissance religious narratives. She received the 2020-2021 Greenberg Curatorial Fellowship at the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum, during which she co-curated the exhibition Women’s Work, centered on the depiction of women’s labor in 18th-21st century American art. She has over five years of experience in digital humanities research projects, including the Meters of Ancient Drama Project at Washington University in St. Louis and as Digital & Open Scholarship Graduate Assistant at Syracuse University Libraries. As igital Archives and Curation Intern, she is responsible for the five-year commemoration of Women Writing History: A Coronavirus Journaling Project.
