Celia Cody
Celia Cody has had a blessed life and credits a good portion of it on the influence of her legendary aunt—the Queen of Salsa—Celia Cruz. Celia Maria or Celly, as she’s known to her family and close-friends, is the 2nd daughter to Celia’s sister, Gladys Becquer and her husband Orlando. Born a fraternal twin with John Paul in Queens, New York. Celia Maria remembers music being a constant in her childhood home, the home she shared with her famous aunt and uncle, Pedro Knight. Celia excelled academically and secretly wished to follow in her namesake’s footsteps by taking piano lessons and participating in the school chorus. Instead, she focused on the business side of entertainment, earning a degree in Motion Pictures Marketing at the University of Miami. Celia’s made a successful career in marketing, working for an impressive list of companies like Warner Music, Telemundo, Dunkin’ Donuts, The American Cancer Society, and Centene Corporation. Celia credits her aunt with giving her the gift of travel, having visited over 35 different countries and counting. Her Tia’s music and legacy live on in her six children: Olivia, Sofia, K.J., Zachary, Josh & Alicia.
