Bonnie J. Morris earned her Ph.D. in women’s history from Binghamton University and taught at both George Washington University and Georgetown for almost 25 years, becoming professor emeritus and Professor of the Year at GWU and Vicennial Medalist at Georgetown. In 2017 she joined the history faculty at the University of California-Berkeley, earning a nomination for its Excellence in Teaching Prize. A nationally recognized authority on the women’s music movement and women’s sports history, Dr. Morris is the author of nineteen books, including Women’s History for Beginners, The Disappearing L, The Feminist Revolution and the new women’s sports retrospective, What’s the Score?  In recent years Dr. Morris won a D.C. Arts and Humanities grant and a writing residency at Hedgebrook; taught around the world in her third appointment as faculty for Semester at Sea; became a consultant to Disney Animation and the Smithsonian; toured with her one-woman play; organized the first exhibit on the women’s music movement at the Library of Congress; won the Ruth Rowan Believer Award from the National Women’s Music Festival; and became the archivist for Olivia Records.
